Our entryways are the first point of entry into our homes the very first impression.
Created with guided design intention and thoughtfulness, our entryways can become a place that not only makes us feel welcome and inviting, but can also become a memorable functional space.

Here are some Inspirations for creating an inviting entryway in your home
Start with your Door
Your door adds that layer of interest to think about what's beyond it as you come into your home. Make it more interesting by painting with either calm colors or even going bold, upgrading your door with a beautiful hardware piece, use a stylish doorbell and even upgrade your door knocker to set the tone.
Add Statement Lighting
Lighting in your entryway is extremely crucial. If you get tons of natural light enhance it by keeping the windows you may have in that space open to allow the light open up your entryway. If you don't have natural light access into your entryway, it is the perfect space to add unique and dramatic lighting, even something simple that stands out. Use flush mount lighting and wall sconces, pendants and even chandeliers depending on the height of your ceiling.

Make your Walls Standout
Add depth to your Walls using wallpaper. Wallpaper comes in different styles, colors, patterns today that you can absolutely find one that is your style. There are even textured ones that mimic the look of natural stone, or wood. You can also frame your walls with trim and molding for a gorgeous architectural detail. Paint the trims at the edges in a contrasting color from the ones on the inner parts of your entryway.
Add Personality
You can add Personality to your entryway making it a cozy inviting space with beautiful framed artwork or a collage or drawing, maybe a collection you bought during your travels like a stack of different mirror shapes and sizes creating an eclectic gallery wall. Use this collection to tell your story and showcase what makes your home unique.

Make it Functional
An entryway can also have a function in addition to inviting people in. Think of the ways you use your entryway, depending on the size and scale, you can choose to add a custom storage bench to sit on and to put things away, adding a chest or cabinet with coffee table books and decorative object to tie it all together, adding a stylish vase that can hold umbrellas or a stand for hanging. All these help to keep the entry organized while looking polished.

Ground your Entryway
Don't overlook your floors. The flooring you choose helps to set a foundation for your space whether you choose tile or wood. You can keep the look seamless by continuing the same material as the rest of your home, or create a defined threshold to set the entry apart. For added design impact, consider changing the pattern, finish, or direction of your flooring - like laying wood in a herringbone at your entry or using a patterned tile for a subtle distinction.
The right material choice not only adds warmth and coziness but also ensures durability against daily foot traffic.
Your entryway sets the mood for your entire home. With just a few intentional updates- whether bold or subtle- you can transform it into a space that feels warm, functional and undeniably stylish.
